Choose your storage
Offline Drive or a cloud service you already use.
In the cloud, on your PC or on a USB drive: Nodrive makes files private before saving them. You keep working as usual; only encrypted data remains in your chosen storage.
Illustrative beta interface
Usable privacy. Storage without lock-in.
How it works
Choose your storage, open the Nodrive drive and keep working with the applications you know.
Offline Drive or a cloud service you already use.
Nodrive creates a virtual drive that works directly on your computer, behind your applications.
Open and save files normally; protection happens on your device.
Two modes today. One on the roadmap.
The beta includes Offline Drive and your own cloud through Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3 and WebDAV. Nodrive Cloud is on the roadmap.
100% offline · no account
Create it on your PC, an external drive or a USB stick. It uses no internet, requires no email and stores only encrypted blocks.
On the roadmap
Storage managed by Nodrive, with history, snapshots and recovery included without configuring a provider.
BYO · 5 connectors available
Connect Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, S3 or WebDAV. The provider receives only encrypted blocks and cannot read files, names or folders.
Snapshots and history
A snapshot records the state of the entire drive at a specific moment. You do not need to manually duplicate every folder: Nodrive keeps the point in history so you can browse or restore it.
Name an important moment; Nodrive also records automatic and synchronization checkpoints on cloud drives.
Open the previous state read-only without creating another readable copy on disk.
Return to a full history point or recover one file version from the File Explorer menu.
Each card explains whether history is included, depends on the selected cloud service, or requires a separate backup.
When available, it will include creating, browsing and restoring history points, with protected-retention options.
You can use snapshots and history. Whether points can be protected from deletion depends on the features offered by the connected cloud service.
To remain fully independent, Nodrive keeps no online history: backups and safety copies remain under your control.
A snapshot lets you go back. To resist ransomware, the point must also remain undeletable until a set date. With your cloud this depends on the connected service; Offline Drive requires a separate backup.
Security by design
End-to-end encryption happens directly on your device. Open and use files normally: Nodrive makes them readable only while you need them; when you close them, only encrypted, unusable parts remain on your computer and in the cloud.
Works automaticallyNodrive works behind the applications you use, without changing your habits.
Readable only when neededThe file is reconstructed only while you open and use it.
Protected when not in useEncrypted data—not the readable file—remains on your computer and in your chosen storage.
Overall security also depends on device protection, safeguarding keys and configuring the environment correctly. The zero-knowledge model applies to file contents and structure: account, authentication, diagnostic and support data follow their respective notices; providers may retain infrastructure metadata.
Security Center
The essential principles are here, next to the way Nodrive handles a file.
Contents, names and file structure are encrypted on the device before the data leaves it.
Nodrive keeps data locally or sends only encrypted blocks to the storage you choose.
The User Key is unlocked on the device and is not held in Nodrive cloud escrow in the current Beta.
Your Nodrive password is never sent to the server: OPAQUE verifies access without transmitting it. Backend communications use TLS.
Nodrive never receives your provider password. Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive use OAuth, and the authorisation token stays on your PC.
A compromised device, a weak password or files created outside Nodrive can reduce the model’s protections.
The data path
The video shows the Nodrive flow: a readable file is opened on the computer, Nodrive protects it on the device, and the chosen storage receives encrypted blocks. When the file is used again, Nodrive reconstructs it for the application. The downloadable video is the same demonstration in English.
Storage without lock-in
Keep them on your computer or connect Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3 or WebDAV. Nodrive-managed storage is on the roadmap.
Product transparency
The Windows beta clearly separates what is already available from features planned on the roadmap.
Frequently asked questions
It is a history point representing the entire drive at a precise moment. Name it, browse it read-only and restore it. On cloud drives, Nodrive also records automatic and synchronization checkpoints.
A snapshot lets you return to an earlier state. To resist ransomware, that point must also remain undeletable until a set date. With your cloud this depends on the connected service; Offline Drive requires a separate backup.
Choose a folder on your PC, an external drive or a USB stick. Nodrive stores only encrypted blocks there and works without internet, email or an account. Take the device with you; opening it requires your password or Recovery Key.
Not necessarily. Create an Offline Drive or make Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, S3 or WebDAV private. Nodrive Cloud is on the roadmap.
Your Nodrive password is never sent to the server. OPAQUE verifies access without transmitting it; for Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, Nodrive does not receive the provider password because authorisation uses OAuth.
Nodrive appears as a drive on your computer: you can open and save files from your usual applications. Protection happens behind this experience.
The recovery key lets you recover access to your data. If two-step verification is enabled, connecting a new computer also requires a registered passkey: keep it together with at least one portable passkey.
No technology can promise that. Nodrive reduces storage exposure, but security also depends on the device, credentials, keys and configuration.
The current beta is available on Windows. Multi-device access through macOS, Linux and mobile clients is on the roadmap, but is not available yet.
A project you can join
The beta is free today. You can support Nodrive in different ways: test it, share feedback, contribute to the project or explore a team use case.
