Password and recovery key
Use a strong password and store the recovery key separately from the device and protected data.
User Key and changing PCs
The wrapped User Key remains local in the current Beta. Before changing PCs, formatting or uninstalling, retain the recovery key and create and verify an Export backup when available.
Local media
HDD or SSD failure, a damaged file system, accidental deletion, or loss or removal of a USB drive can make encrypted data unavailable.
Your storage
Google Drive, WebDAV, NAS and other connected storage remain under the user’s or third party’s control. Expired tokens, quotas, outages or deleted objects may prevent access.
